After 15 years of serving AS THE ASSISTANT VARSITY COACH FOR THE HORACE GREELEY HIGH SCHOOL FIELD HOCKEY TEAM, coach brit is excited to announce her new position as assistant varsity field hockey coach at yorktown high school IN 2024 TO PRESENT. Coach brit is one of the head coaches for the NEW CASTLE RECREATION FIELD HOCKEY YOUTH FOR GRADES 2ND THROUGH 6TH DURING the fall as well as head coach and commissioner of somers youth field hockey org. BRITTANY GRADUATED WITH A BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN KINESIOLOGY FROM SUNY CORTLAND. WHILE AT CORTLAND, BRITTANY WAS CAPTAIN OF A TOP- 5 NATIONALLY RANKED TEAM IN FIELD HOCKEY AND WAS AWARDED SECOND TEAM ALL AMERICAN. SHE GRADUATED FROM PLEASANTVILLE HIGH SCHOOL WHERE SHE PLAYED 5 YEARS ON VARSITY FIELD HOCKEY BEGINNING IN 8TH GRADE. AS PLEASANTVILLE’S TEAM CAPTAIN, THE TEAM ADVANCED TO RUNNER-UP IN THE STATE CHAMPIONSHIP. BRITTANY HAS BEEN TRAINING HIGH SCHOOL AND COLLEGIATE ATHLETES THROUGH HER COMPANY PERROTTI FITNESS FOR OVER 17 YEARS.
BRITTANY FULFILLED HER LIFELONG DREAM AS ATHLETE AND COACH OF MAKING IT TO THE NYSPHSAA FIELD HOCKEY STATE CHAMPIONSHIP FINALS BOTH RESULTING IN 2ND PLACE WITH TWO UNFORGETTABLE TEAMS.

SHANNON SCAVELLI
Shannon Scavelli is the current varsity field hockey coach at Somers High School.
Prior to Somers, Shannon was the assistant coach at Lakeland High School for five years where they won one state title. She is a former four-year Division I Field Hockey Student-Athlete and Captain at the University of Michigan.
She was 2016 Big Ten Medal of Honor Recipient, the first for the UM field hockey program.
Alumni of Lakeland High School and holds the records for goals in a season and career. 3x NYS Champion, 3x All-State and 2x High School All-American. Shannon is also the founder and club director for Westchester Wolverines Field Hockey Club - offering youth field hockey programs since 2018. Shannon is committed to growing the game of field hockey at all levels.
SOFI SOUTHAM
began playing field hockey at age six and competed throughout high school in Argentina for Club GEBA and the Buenos Aires Selection Team. For college she attended the University of Michigan, where she became one of the most accomplished players in program history.
At Michigan, Sofi helped lead the team to the 2021 NCAA Championship Game, won two Big Ten Tournament Championships (2020, 2021), and secured a Big Ten Regular Season Championship in 2021. She earned First-Team All-American honors and was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year for her exceptional performances. She also played internationally for the USA National Team.
Sofi attributes her success to the over 35 coaches who shaped her career and inspired her own coaching journey. She has coached youth athletes since high school and continued mentoring high school and college-bound players throughout her college years.
double major in Economics and International Studies, Sofi combines her passion for the sport with a commitment to education. She looks forward to continuing her journey as both a player, coach, and mentor inspiring the next generation of field hockey athletes.
